This is probably a requirement of the credit card companies to reduce the incidence of fraudulent purchases.

Sometimes it is possible to get the delivery address changed by separately contacting customer services and convincing them that you are genuine but not at home. I suggest that you contact them now to see if this is possible.

If the shipping address is registered with the credit card company, you should not have any problem. I've been doing it this way with HP Shopping for many years without incident...........

Hmm. I had a relative buy mine online using credit card and shipped to another state under a different name. And I had no problem at all. I ordered mine just last month!

From what I was told at the time (2003); if the transaction is over $1500 and the shipping address is not on file with the credit card company, then the purchase will be automatically declined.

There's a big difference between "shipping to another address" and "shipping somewhere else when using an international credit card", you should have said that first. Maybe it is a pain, but many places will not ship to a PO box (if by "us mail box address" you mean PO Box), and it would still be a big security issue if the 2 addresses are not in the same country.

Sorry, that's just how it works. International business does not easily allow for verification of addresses and all sorts of other things.

    But that wasn't your question.

Are you able to use that credit card to order other expensive items from online in the USA?
