Get an external USB tv tuner, it will be better.

No difference. Except one is inside and one is outside. The internal one might cause more heat since it is inside the chassis. You can't see the internal one of course since it is inside. What you will see is an input cable hole on the side of your laptop. Then there is a HP remote, antenna, some cables etc. That is what it looks like.

If your going to avoid the internal avoid HP's tuner's all together. Find one that works with Windows Media Center 100%. I have an aftermarket one that is just as bad as HP's apparently is. Works with its own software but the Digital doesnt work under WMC.

I added one for $37, couldn't resist, will see how it is. I guess it only works with HP's Quickplay app, which people say is for some reason worse quality than Media Center, not sure why.

It works with both programs but some features are absent with the HP program.

@optimustarzan - I think you might have it mixed up, features missing in WMC is what I've been hearing.

Mine works pretty good if you are in a zone with some hd channels and just sometimes it lags but if you have a good spot you will have no problems.

    Hp rocks :)
