I have an HP ze4610us laptop with a Netgear MA521 802.11 wireless card. The connection is *extremely* slow - about 10X slower than the same wireless card/same network on my previous computer. Has anyone encountered this problem?

    Thanks.

sometimes you'll find that a manufacturer's wlan card doesn't play as friendly from one notebook to the other. search me, but i can't explain why, in my past experiences i've found that simply using a different card/router/notebook combination can give quite varied performance even when the specs say everything should be the same.

what i would do first is check that you have all the latest drivers for this wlan card installed on your notebook. if not, install the latest drivers. is still no luck, you might want to contact HP about recommended wlan cards (or look on their website and see what they sell there for this accessory option and then if it doesn't work right you can complain to them and return the card).
