so i reformatted my Verve the other day,
    brand new Vista Home Premium,

so far ive updated my windows vista,
but for some reason i can't do the windows rating anymore, why is that?

there is no rating button, anyone know why?

for drivers, ive only downloaded my video drivers and sound drivers,
what other drivers are important to download? because so far, im doing good right now with just video and sound driver,

anyone here have a Verve dv2500se, and reformatted and know what to do exactly?

I reformatted mine and it showed up straight away and ran the WEI tool to get WEI score.

Be sure that the drivers for the processors are showing up in your device manager - if they're not, then that could be the problem.

Also check to make sure the motherboard shows up ... if either of these are missing, then that could be the problem.

Check the EXACT model of your laptop - you can find this on the bottom of it. Then go to www.hp.com and look it up - verify that all the drivers listed under software and drivers is there.

    Here's an example:

    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=2093&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=3646860&lang=en

Those are all the drivers for my model notebook. Look around for the dv2***se model number and type it into the search under "support". You can also choose to auto detect at the HP website, but I'm wary about using that.

You'll see that there are chipset drivers and graphic drivers ... if the chipset driver is not properly installed, then that could be the reason.

Finally, try windows update - you didn't mention having internet connection problems, so I assume you have access.

Let me know if any of this helps.

    Best!

yeah, i downloaded my drivers with the exact model number on my Verve, which is a dv2550se,

    i checked under device manager,
and both my processors shows up,
    -Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T5250 @ 1.50GHz
    -Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T5250 @ 1.50GHz

for motherboard, iono if it shows up, is under computers under device manager,
    -ACPI x86-based PC,
is that my motherboard? i believe so,

i made sure everything is updated and etc,
    and still i i can't rate.

That's really strange ... maybe the activation failed?

The WEI is the least of it - it's not showing any of your processor information at all. Maybe you should consult Orev under the Clean install thread and see if he has any advice.

Worst comes to worst, just use your restoration disks or do the regular HP install unless someone has a better idea?

According to a few posts I've seen about this issue, it could be a problem with WMI on your system. One thing to try which might help is:
    1. Open "Services" (Start menu, type "services")
    2. Look for Windows Management Instrumentation
    3. If the status is not "Started", right-click and press "Start"

Try doing a google search for "vista fix corrupt wmi". There are too many possibilities to go through each one on the forum. Maybe that search will give you some other ideas.
