    And turn off the 5830 to boost your battery life by a few hours? A full HD 15 inch desktop replacement with light and thin form factor that lasts 6+ hours would be friggen win....

    Yes, it seems HP really dropped the ball. Decided to use a chipset that doesn't support switchable graphics.

    It does support the RAID drives though. People are speculating they went with the PM because of that. I think that since they were already neutering the RAM it would have been nice if they'd have done the same with the drives and just gone with the HM55 so we could use the IGP, but... oh well. With a slice I'm still looking at 6+ hours of battery according to the reviews, even with the Radeon. For the price? You can't get any other machine anywhere near this powerful. And you just can't get a machine near the power in the same size (lightweight 15"), period.
