The only method for me to buy a laptop is at retail, since none of the websites offer shipping to venezuela. My aunt is going to the US in two weeks and I was looking at the retail models of the dv6000t, but none of them seem to have bluetooth, or maybe they just don't list it? I looked at walmart.com, circuitcity.com, bestbuy.com, and compusa.com and none of them show it.

Aside from that, it's come down to the dv6000 or the macbook. I don't want to pay more than $1300, and at that price range I think I get more bang for you buck from the HP model, but the no bluetooth thing sucks.

Any advice on what to do? Are there any common problems with the dv6000 or the macbook?

    Thanks.

Well, you can always get a USB bluetooth dongle, if having bluetooth is a major issue. Or you could customize it with bluetooth on hpshopping.com, and have it shipped to the address where your aunt will stay.

Thing is she's only staying there for a weekend, so a few problems arise, one of them being that I don't think any couriers work on weekends, and the other being that notebook companies take a long ass time to ship custom built laptops. So basically my only choice is to buy retail.

Plus, my credit card's billing address is in Venezuela, I don't think hpshopping is gonna let me purchase, most of the time your billing address has to be within the US.

Are you buying it for yourself or for her? You have to consider how comfortable you are with Windows v. Mac OS.

Also consider how the warranty will transfer to Venezuela. It might be for US-only.

The laptop is for me, and I'm pretty comfy with both OS's. If I do end up getting a mac I would probably install bootcamp anyway since I always like to have everything.

As for warranty, the 1 year standard warranty applies to HP Venezuela, as well as apple.

The only problem so far is getting one with the right specs at retail.

Hmmm, if HP offers warranty services in Venezuela, then it stands to reason that it has a service network there, which means it serves the Venezuelan market. In that case, the website should offer shipping to Venezuela. Call them up and and ask about it just to be sure. Otherwise, if you have close friends, relatives, etc in the US, you can always have the notebook shipped there then have them ship it to you.
