Is that idle temp, or under load? Which program are you using?

I use Core Temp for the cpu.

+1 with HwMonitor. They just need to make it able to run on the background/tray and its perfect. Right now theres no option to make it run on startup but you can make it run on startup using task scheduler.

But the question remains the same. Are those idling temps? If so then they are hot!

Those seem ok. But I would still advise you to undevolt.

Secondly you can upgrade your RAM for sure very easily. Hard Disk could be the tough part as I am not sure if your Notebook can support SATA. Would you mind posting your exact model number?

Yes... with the older BIOS revisions that don't start the fan until the core temp hits 55C. You need to flash in the current BIOS that runs the fan more aggressively. I have that same CPU in my dv9000z and the latest BIOS did wonders for idle CPU temps. That helps to cool the rest of the chassis too which is very important.

Go to the hp.com downloads page for your specific notebook model, download and run the BIOS update.
