hi all,
i was just browsing memory upgrade option for probook 6440b and i found this on hp website
http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/13381_div/13381_div.HTML
a quick google search gives me this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...Memory+(Notebook+Memory)-_-G.SKILL-_-20231341
so im wondering how i would know if a particular third-party memory (which is cheaper) is suitable for a replacemet of the HP one?
it seems like the one on HP website has less information than the one listed on buy.com
thanks for the help

Any DDR3 RAM will work.

so it doesnt matter if it has 1066mhz or 1333mhz? also what about the number "pc3-10600"? all these numbers give me a headache..

Either will work, but you'd be best off getting whatever matches whatever you're adding to (as I understand it, the memory speed will be set to that of the slowest memory, not that there's that much difference here).
Crucial has a handy look-up tool for laptop memory on their website:

some insight about memory?
