    hello

    something strange happens

with an unknown way, I enable a "mode" in my laptop where the above strange things happen:

when i click comma it appears <
when i click on an opera tab or mirc tab it closes it
when i click on explorer items it highlights them as if I had holded the shift key clicked
most key shortcuts dont work, (eg ctrl+s +++ ison save) and if they work they are altered

i dont know i trigger it and how to stop it

the result is a totally crazy keyboard and I have to restart my laptop to restore this strange mode

    my laptop is hp dv5235

any ideas what is this, how do I enable/disable it?

    thanks!

yeah, you've got the sticky SHIFT key problem. See one of the anouncements above all threads in the forum.
Look for the latest BIOS from HP; you should be able to "un-stuck" your shift key by pressing it several times when this occurs.

The dv5000 series is also known to share the problems that the dv800 has, so it may very well be the sticky shift problem.

Are you able to unlock the shift key by pressing it several times? Did you upgrade your BIOS?
If you want official answers, call HP and listen to the crap they say for excuses.
