alright just a couple weeks ago i was trying to burn a cd off of Itunes then all of a sudden the notebook froze,so i was getting all confused, waiting for 20-15 mins, doing all as like atl cntrl del.but it didn't work so i just held the power button.then as i go to restart it i get this message"Windows cannot find the local profile and is logging you on with a temporary profile. Changes you make to this profile will be lost when you log off."so i login and i go to see that ALL my files are gone.it's like it restarted itself and went back to how it was when i just bought it meaning in like all the programs were stock and everything.but when i go to search files, all my files seem to still be there.even tho i try to restore it,it doesnt work.everytime i shut down my note book then turn it off it goes back to the same.i have to go through the same process of installing everything everytime.can somebody please help me?

Try going in to the control panel and creating a new account under user accounts. Restart and log in under the new account. Move all your files to the new account. Restart one more time to make sure the new account is working. Then go back to accounts in control panel and delete any other accounts besides the new one you made. By the way, what operating system are you running? Hope this helps.

Yay :) Sorry if my reply wasnt too clear, it was very late when I wrote it. I just wanted to know if you had XP or Vista. Your user file on the original account got corrupted some how. All your original files should still be there. You can find them in the documents and settings folder. There should be another folder with your old account name in there. Inside that you should find everything. Let me know how it all turn out. Take care.
