i don't know where this should go.. but since i have an hp it defaults to here right? :)

ok i like messing w/pitch controls sometimes when i listen (& sing along lol) to my music. i used to be able to do it on my old shatty computer seamlessly w/quicktime. now i have brand spanking new (see sig) that i just clean installed on and doing this... doesn't work?

i use quicktime to do it bc i've never been aware of any other players to have this function.. so now on my new laptop, when i open the a/v controls in QT & move the pitch control to anything but the default, the sound gets all distorted & effed up.

i'm pretty sure i installed all the correct audio drivers after my clean install & have not heard anything problematic before i performed this obscure task.

any advice? is quicktime just bad or is there something i can/should do?

    thanks in advance :) <3

Most likely this is related to your audio drivers. Try to see if there are updated versions(through HP or Windows Update) to the one you have.

Dont download the latest Conexant sound drivers which was released yesterday from Windows Update. It showed up for my system and its for a different model. It killed the sound, also happened to others.

What version realtek/conexant drivers are you using? Check your device manager
