i've got a strange issue on my hp dv5000. i currently have no sound. the volume controls do not work, neither does the master volume control on the taskbar. in fact, going to the program manager shows NOTHING installed for a sound card.

this laptop has integrated sound. the "mute" button on the keyboard does not work at all when this anomaly appears. this has happend twice before & rectified itself. i do not know what caused it or how it got fixed--but it seems to be an possibly be an issue with the CPU being tasked & the mute button/sound buttons being used. rebooting by itself does NOT fix this problem.

    please advise?
