my webcam won't launch so i downloaded the latest update from hp software and drivers website..

it auto extracted then did some things in cmd, then just went blank, no confirmation and certainly no installation...
it's not installing and i do not know why!!!

i used recovery manager to restore original software but no luck,...

does anyone know a good free webcame application that has similar effects and a good compressor?? (compressor not necessary)

either a fix for the latest sp45692.exe i have with me or a free webcam software would be appreciated!!

    Thanks

Joseph, I had the same problem with all the MediaSmart apps after upgrading to Windows 7, especially the MediaSmart TV. I would download the install file, double click it and it would open some Command Prompt sessions then just go dead. I tried everything known to man but nothing would work.

I finally just reinstalled Windows 7 on my HDX 18 and wiped the hard drive clean. Then, all the MediaSmart apps installed perfectly. Have to say everything worked flawlessly, and within about 4 total hours I had a clean Win 7 install and I went through the HP driver download page for my computer and installed all one by one. I believe that is the only viable solution if you are having the MediaSmart problems.

i have it up until temp folder, but no bin or sr.
