    splits while watching movies or playing certain games

    hi guys, i have a problem, when i watch youtube videos or play certain games, i get these horizontal splits going across the upper half of my screen, and im not exactly sure if its a driver problem or a hardware problem

    games affected: COD black ops, and borderlands and in some hd movies

    any input would be appreciated

    If you are on Windows Vista or 7, make sure that Aero is enabled.

    For games, enable VSync in the game.

    I assume you have a dv6-6000 notebook.

    My dv6t-6100 CTO plays Borderlands perfectly at 1080p (low-ish settings though with most effects turned off). I noticed obvious screen tearing when trying to play the game at 1366x768 with higher settings, so went back to native res with low settings. I'm using the 2nd ATI driver posted by HP.

    my bad im on a dv7t quad edition with the ati 6770 and running 1600x900

    i get screen tears almost always in the upper 1/3 of my screen, aero is enabled, and vsync makes no difference, also i can see the tears when i look up, and spin, and its not just 1 or 2, it goes on until i stop spinning, black ops does the same thing, but i only notice it when i look up
