    every 6 seconds or so I hear a firm springing sound come from the top right corner of the laptop. It is extremely annoying. No sound is running. Any ideas?

    huh, wierd, casue iam getting sound issues with my DV5-1157ca.. it sounds like static in the speakers.. and it is constant.. playing music... not playing music.. also, USB power dying issues... , is going on...lol. Drivers and bios update did not fix it.. so.. maybe a board issue..
