So I got my hp dv6t today (very happy with it so far), but my one gripe is even after doing a minimized system recovery it still feels bloated with software. Theres so many unnecessary stuff like intel wifi technology, hp assistant, hp wifi manager, and intel rapid storage.

Is there a list of stuff that can be uninstalled even after the minimized system recovery. Espeically redundant stuff like 3 wireless managers.

Minimized System Image is one of the options in the HP Recovery menu. On the DM1z, it removes all the unnecessary crap but retains all of the functionality. The "Removing Bloatware? Reinstall Win7?" thread has a lot more detail.

    try doing what i did

copy the swsetup folder and install windows 7 using a windows 7 install disc that i burned (perfectly legall)

then just install whatever u want from the swsetup folder (obviously you need things like the drivers for the wireless card but a lot of stuff you can pass on)

    clean install 0 bloatware

I just disabled them from starting up, as a temporary solution. But i want to just get rid of them. Only problem is i dont want them to be connected to something important.

i dont *really* consider most of the HP software bloat. I mean, I don't necessarily *like* what it does, but it is sometimes, once in a long while useful, and it doesn't annoy me on a regular basis, so i didn't mind that minimal system restore kept it...
