    switching 6770 gpu

    could i switch out the gpu in my dv6 qe for lets a 6970 or 485?

    The GPU is soldered on to the motherboard. Even it could be changed, the system's cooling would be woefully inadequate to cope with a high-end card's greater thermal output.

    I never understand why people buy a brand new laptop and want to switch out the gpu. If you wanted an upgradable machine you should've bought a desktop. A gtx 460 or above would melt this laptop. Even with the 6770 on full load you can almost fry an egg on the left palmrest.
