    how do u guys take pics from a distance with the hp dv6500. is there away to atleast set a timer?

    Since there's no zoom lens in the camera, pictures from a distance would be very hard to see. Also, the camera is 640x480 resolution, and your pictures will be pretty low quality. The camera is made for videos which don't need really high resolution.

    lol You should have just gotten an external webcam instead. If you plan to change the angles and direction of the camera. The integrated camera is fixed and was only designed for face 2 face webcamming

    Try a longer mouse cord... or maybe a bigger screen.. Im sure theres a program out there with a timer setting

    the cam has no zoom so how are you planning on taking a pic from far away?

    OK, trying to be constructive here: Maybe you can use the remote control and quickplay to do it?

    You might also look into the program "dorgem", which does a bunch of things with webcams. It might have the timer function, or at least you can set it to take a picture like once a second and just pose and wait for it. I have had trouble getting it to work on Vista though, so your mileage may vary.
