I am the owner of a Compaq Presario 2513EU and I have a few small stupid questions, which I hope someone might be able to answer!

Is it normal for the temperature of the hard disc to be around 40-50 degrees celcius, and how high can the temperature get, without the computer getting damaged? There also seems to be a fan at the back of the notebook, which has NEVER been on - is that unusual? Recently I had the computer's BIOS updated, and part of the result was that the one fan which actually does turn on is much less active than it once was. Was that a bad move?
