today, my friend pushed out the pcmcia button and now when I try to push it back in, it won't click and stay in!
it just springs back out.
will warranty cover this?
-
Push the plastic dummy card in first and then push the button.

And yes, Warranty will cover it, if it is in fact, broken.
-
hrm, anyone have any experience as to how long warranty will take?
-
Well, the unit is shipped to a Repair facility, if the diagnosis and repair is quick, it will be shipped the day it came in. I believe it will then be either shipped to HP or to you.
On the other hand, if the repair takes longer, let's say, a: the part is not in stock, b: the technicians were not able to repair it that day (part issues, too many units to repair/not enough technicians, etc..) Then it could take over a week, depending on when the technicians get to repair it and/or the part comes into stock.
At a retail store I previously worked in, when sending units out for warranty repair, we were told to state 6-8 weeks. Now, I don't know 100% what happens between you and the unit is recieved at the repair depot ( I believe it is sent straight there) and I don't know what happens afterwards. -
