is checking their configuration and prices AFTER U placed an order.

i just did it now. i ordered my dv6500t se on monday, today i went to checked my status and saw what was new. now i see that with the price i paid i could now get a 2.2ghz core duo instead of 2.0ghz, 160gb upgread for $50 instead of $100, and a 12cell battery for only $20. i'm piss lolllll. no biggie i still have a nice system.

Try using their 20% off coupon - but this removes instant rebates. I tried using instant rebates + student discount + $300 coupon (before - about a week ago - I finally ordered it) and it doesn't work. I found out that instant rebate + student discount to be cheaper than coupons - ideal for college students like me. :D

As for gaming it should handle WC easily as with CS. I can run WCIII and CS at almost full speed with an ancient integrated 82845G graphics on my old DT. Source should be nearly full speed too. :)

I was wondering what number you called to get this refund? I am thinking I should be able to get a small refund but don't want to spend 3 hours on the phone to get it.

Call them up and be FIRM ABOUT IT! You want the price difference OR ELSE. Don't yell but be firm and make sure you're the boss. Demand to talk to the person in charge and bust his or her balls until you get what you want. Don't hang up until
they give in. Soon they'll get sick of talking to you and they'll pay.

one of the indians CRS was giving me a hard time telling me there was nothing they can do, just to reorder another one and when i get the first one to ship it back. so i asked for a supervisor. i explained to him the situation and he knew about the 30 days policy. he configured the same system using the coupon i used and notice the price different so he refunded the $90 to my account. i asked to see if i could get any freebies since he was being so nice :p but that was a nono.

well i got my system yesterday and all i can said is, BEAUTIFULL. i have seen the black version cause my friend have it, i do like it but this one in white version is much more atractive to the eyes than the common (everybody having) black version. the imprint finish is nice. this thing is flying, i would say like 10x faster than my v3000 1.6ghz x2 turion. people prefer black or prefer white version. i prefer the white NOW that i have seen it in person, i'm happy i made the right choice

I had something similar happen to me after I purchased my dv9500t. It was about a day after I ordered the laptop that I noticed a better processor came out for the laptop so I called them and asked to get it upgraded or to cancel the order so I could reorder it. They said that because it was after the 24 hours and my order was dropped to the factory for production there was nothing I could do. So, I received my laptop in the mail on Wednesday and called HP and told they I wanted to return the laptop (I told them the situation) and they refunded my card and I placed the new order with them over the phone. It ended up working perfectly for me because of the 20% off coupon that just came out. I ended up getting the better processor and a extra high capacity 8cell battery for only $60 more than I paid for the first one. So needless to say I was happy and can't wait for my new laptop to come in next week. :D
