    hi, i want to buy the v3000z with lowest amount of ram, then put in a 512 stick of ram from newegg. the problem is i have no idea wat ram would be compatible with the v3000z. all it says on the website is: 512MB DDR2 SDRAM

    any help would be appreciated, thx :)

    Its 200 pin DDR2 533MHz(PC2 4200) SODIMM. HP uses 2X256MB, so if you want to upgrade to 1GB you'll have to replace both slots.

    The Turion X2 officially supports memory upto DDR2 667MHz although nobody has yet tested it on the V3000z, so you can go for either 533 or 667MHz memory.

    Yeah, specifications wise it should work with V3000, although I'm quite not sure about the quality though since I havent ever used Gskill memory. But in any case the warranty should back you up.
