I am shopping for a new laptop and trying to decide between the envy 17t touch or non touch. Anyone have experience with both ? Can the touchscreen be disabled and does even make any difference if I chose the touchscreen ?

Why is the touchscreen model cheaper than the non-touch?

You can disable the touch interface on the screen in device manager. Not sure if HP makes a button or hot button combo to turn off.

The difference in price on screens is a difference in hardware (ips / non ups) or different resolutions. A quick glance at the HP page shows the envy 17 Touch laptops are more expensive.

I personally don't need a touch screen for a work laptop. Better suited for a convertible or tablet.

As soon as I can get a 30% coupon. My configuration will cost $860 after the coupon.
