I have a dv7t-1200 and have been trying to install IDT audio codec drivers with partial success. I can get both the nvidia and idt codecs to install but after reboot they are gone.

I discovered after installing windows xp on my computer If I disable microsoft uaa bus driver for high def audio then immediately enable it all of my hardware is detected I can install the audio drivers and everything works fine... until I reboot. after reboot all audio devices are gone. If I again disable ms uaa bus driver in device manager and re enable everything starts back up and I have sound again.

my xp pro install includes sp3. I have tried installing microsoft uaa service pack for sp3 and I get the same result. I can install the drivers for audio both nvdia and idt sound works then reboot gone again

I have also done the regedit tweak to roll current version back to xp sp2 and installed the uaa pack 1.0a and again recognizes then I can install audio drivers and they will work until I reboot then gone again.

Each way I have tried I get the same result drivers work fine then reboot and they are gone. I disable MS UAA bus driver re-enable and they work again but every time the sytem reboots they are again gone.

I have found many threads here and abroad about downgrading to windows xp and none of which seem to help me.

If I do not disable then re enable MS UAA bus driver and attempt to install the audio drivers the idt install alerts me that no compatible hardware has been found same for the nvidia audio drivers.

I have reinstalled xp several times trying different ways of installing uaa bus driver and every idt driver from hp i can find but always end up having to disable and reenable MS uaa to get the sound to work on this laptop. If I had other driver trouble I would have aborted this xp attempt long ago but someone has to have a solution if I can get this far get everything to work only to be dissappointed after rebooting. Yes standby would be great until someone reboots the thing and complains that the sound is no longer working.
