i disconnected the line that connects the LED buttons from the mother board. by doing that, they dont work anymore. but the power buttons still work because it has its own line.

i can put back the LED buttons light back anytime. but i dont use it so thats y

you have got be kidding ... ha ha... how is it even possible? There are so many blue lights on the dv series...

Plus, I don't think that these lights have any sort of effects on the battery life.

I doubt it'd make a defference - LEDs use very little power i think

"so if u dont know sh*t dont say sh*t"
That is completely unnecessary and is certainly not in the "spirit" of these forums

I think he was trying to express that telling someone to not share their opinion/knowledge in an open forum defeats the purpose of the forum, not the actually choice of words you used to deter the other poster. Thats why he had you whole comment quoted and not just the particular word.

Anyway back to your original post, I doubt the LEDs would drain a significant amount. Why don't you hook them back up and drain the battery, recording the time it takes to discharge the battery, then disconnect the LEDs and repeat the same discharge as similarly as possible as the first and compare the times. I'm sure it will not be significant.

LEDs of this type draw anywhere between 0 and 20 mA. Given the fact they are not that bright, I'd say GPIO driven so let's say 4mA@3V or 12mW/LED

Let's say worst case is 20mA, transistor driven@5V or 100mW/LED. But I think 12mW would be much closer to reality.
