is there any way to disable the integrated graphics, because i want to use the website Can You Run It?

which detects hardware and basically tells you if you can run a game, well my problem is that it keeps picking up on the intel graphics instead of the 6770m which is enabled.... so id like to disable it so i can continue to use this website....

my alienware never had this problem, but you also had to shut it off then flip the switch to go to integrated graphics

The switch isn't automatic, is it? Try right-clicking the desktop and click "configure switchable graphics" to switch.

for some reason with the 6770m enabled, that website detects the integrated graphics

and no the switch on my old pc wasnt automatic, it had a physical switch on the laptop that you flipped when the pc was off

Odd. Must be a glitch of some sort.

Actually, yes, it is a glitch, since I always get that error, too. It's something with the site, not the laptop.

Try YouGamers - Games instead, or just just make a thread in our gaming forum ( Gaming (Software and Graphics Cards) ) to ask if you can run a game.

Same here while running a few applications that detect hardware configuration. The software will say that I am running Intel graphics even though the system is using the ATi GPU. Maybe it has something to do with the Intel chip being integrated and enabled even though the ATi board is also enabled? My guess (only a theory) to solve this issue is to download and install the latest Catalyst driver directly from AMD/ATi rather than use the one supplied by HP. Reasoning is that non-OEM drivers will not have switchable graphics support. Thus eliminating the system using the Intel GPU (theoretically) entirely.
