A couple of folks had suggested the 6710 or 6720 models and I am intrigued. However, I am STUNNED that HP only has certain pre-configured models for the 6720 and the pricing for a customized 6710 jumps almost $400 for no apparent reason. Factor in other quirkiness(no bluetooth available for some pre-configured models) and it makes me want to pull my hair out! I could be satisfied with the 6720s (RM323UT - get out your HP decoder ring) which only has the T5470 1.60 GHz processor and lacks bluetooth, BUT is only 5.5 lbs for a 15.4" BrightView screen and is only <s>$799</s> $741 at buy.com.

Why is buying the perfect laptop so difficult? It really should not be this hard

Buying the perfect laptop isn't hard. Buying the perfect laptop within a budget is.
