im getting some "splits" in the screen when i turn rapidly, and i know its a driver problem, im just not sure which driver to download
-
someone else posted the same it was a setting vsync you need to turn it off in catalyst control center
-
You mean turn it on. By default, it's off unless told otherwise.
-
I guess I read it wrong.....
-
putting vsync on or off isnt doing anything
-
if you're using windowed mode, you'll have to switch to fullscreen because vsync doesn't work in windowed mode.

Before I returned mydv7tqe, I also had some tearing issues one night while playing SD video. Luckily it was only for one boot and it appeared to be fixed after a cold start the next afternoon. It's unfortunate to see that other people are still having this issue even after HP updated the Radeon drivers, but I'm not sure there's anything else to be done aside from waiting for them to fix it. Has anyone talked to tech support about the screen tearing?
-
its a driver issue, because i installed the newest catalyst driver, and everything but the switchable graphics worked, and i kinda wanted that to work for some reason even though i hardly ever use the intel graphics so i did a system restore back to the old driver....
can i have a link to the proper driver for our 6770m -
They may be still stored on your computer. Check C:/swsetup/drivers/video/Setup.exe. This is the one that was pre-installed by HP.
If you don't have that here is a link for the ones listed on HPs drivers site.
Radeon 6770M
Here are the ones for the Intel 3000 too
Intel 3000
It also lists a second Intel 3000
I guess this is an update
Also a side question:
I updated my card with the 11.5b hotfix and now my card resisters as a 6700M in both GPU-Z and Device Manager. The card works fine, in fact better after the hotfix, but did this happen to anyone else? -
updated to 11.5b and still having vsync issues on crysis 2.
-
im thinking about retrying the 11.5b hotfix, but id rather keep my switchable graphics working.... although if it solves my splitting issue id be willing to update
-
Switchable graphics still works after the update to 11.5b on my new DV7TQE!
-
Same happened to me. My card is reconized as a 6700m now. My w7 gadget that checks my gpu temperatures stopped working also. -
Trust me u still have a 6770m GPU acting the way it should. I believe when u updated to the AMD Mobility drivers(ie not the ones off of the HP website) it just shows the Vid card series, ie. 6700m series, 5800 series etc.
Not sure what widget ur using but the Sapphire Trixx OC tool still registers my cards temps accurately, as does GPU Caps viewer etc, I'd suggest it could be an issue with the widget?!? Just a suggestion. -
Ok, if you say so. It's an windows sidebar gadget, called orbmu2k.
Btw, did any of you guys try to install AMD overdrive? It crashes my computer when I try to do it... =/ -
Unless your using a AMD CPU/Chipset(ie. motherboard) why would u install AMD Overdrive?
-
Oh, I thought it was used to tweak the GPU.
Once, I saw a friend of mine using a catalyst control center which let him change the fan speed, along with some other configurations that I can't seem to find on this catalyst. So, if it's not the Overdrive, what's that? -
Ah ok I'm with you now, I believe thats been disabled by AMD/ATi on mobility vid cards in the Control Center for awhile now. Thats why if you look around the forums you will see us talking about Sapphire Trixx, or MSI Afterburner, ATi Tools etc, they all overclock your vid card etc.
Trixx lets u adjust the voltage, and fan speeds etc, dunno about the others, as I dont use them with this card. Hope that helps -
Btw 11.5b ccc made anything better for you guys? I wasn't experiencing any glitches whatsover before the update, which standed after the update.
I din't notice any performance improvement, but as usual, you don't, as driver updates never enhances your GPU performance in a noticeable amount. Afterall, you shouldn't right? In the end is the same GPU, nothing more, nothing less.
The best driver is the one that doesn't crash, glitch or overheat. If any of you guys notice any of these issues, please, feedback. -
Dark Rider, I saw your post on here after receiving a DV6tqe almost identical to yours minus the screen size except I opted for the 2720 and don't have the BD burner. I have read countless threads of the switchable graphics not working on the dv6-7 laptops with the ATI cards and am suspicious of mine. I ran Starcraft 2 and Sins of a Solar Empire and am skeptical that the GPU switched over after the game not running at the resolution and speed I would have thought. Is there a way to check to make sure it is using the ATI card?
Thanks! -
Hello,
I too have problems with the drivers of my ATI 6770m on my HP Pavilion dv6-6002ev and I decided to post here to see if you can help me.
I updated my driver for the card, because of some crash problems that I had, but now Switchable Graphics does not work. Is it a problem with the driver? How can I downgrade my driver so that I can use Switchable Graphics again? -
Download and install.
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp55001-55500/sp55092.exe -
Hello again,
before and after the driver update for the 6770m I am experiencing some gaming problems. The games run smoothly before some time but now it runs badly and the game lags. I downloaded the HDD Sentinel programme and showed me that the health of my Hard Disk was in "25% Acceptable" and there werre bad sectors on it. Has it something to do with the performance of my graphics card? Can u help me solve my problem?
Thank you -
I have the same problem and the same laptop
All you need is modified drivers and the best modified driver for our laptop is this :
Leshcat
Try this and u will remember me.
p.s. my UBR sets at f940 (when u reach there , u understand that....) -
You just answered with your first post to a 2 year old abandoned topic.
