is the first year when you buy the laptop consider a "HP standard warranty period" because i want to upgrade the warrenty for acidental drop warrenty for hp. Is it possible to upgrade if the "basic manufactory warrenty" didnt expire yet?

I believe you have up until a year from date of purchase to get the extended warranty, so you should be just fine with upgrading it. Hopefully you saved your receipt.

if you paid via credit card, you might already have a double-length warranty set up. if so, call your credit card company to find out what their terms might be.
