I know desktops are generally much easier to upgrade than laptops....
but is it possible to upgrade CPU and graphcis chips in our HP pavilion laptops?
As of right now, i'm pretty happy with my specs, but i'm sure in a year or two i probably won't be. I'd rather upgrade (pc style) than throw it out and buy another one (mac style). So, upgrading, is it possible? is it a pain in the glass? is it expensive?
Yes, I realize i may sound like a n00b asking such questions. But hey, this is my first laptop. i don't know too much about how laptops are built...

ram and HD are usuallt replaceable. Grafix cards sometimes are replaceable, but only with laptop cards (and some laptops you can't). As for the cpu... some do some don't (but if you upgrade, make sure your laptop can cool properly and it is the correct socet type)
hope that helps! -
It all depends on the configuration of the system. Some will allow cpu upgrades but probably not to the technology that will be around 2 years from now. As for the graphics, if it has integrated graphics, your out of luck. Not the answers you wanted to hear but.....

HP usually posts service guides for their notebooks. The CPUs are replaceable, but once you see the work involved you'll probably decide against it. It's as if they deliberately made it as difficult as possible.
upgrading?
