    i bought a dv6324us from circuitcity bc my other laptop wasnt doing that well in the graphics department. i have a TL-56 to put in the dv6000. how do i do that? when i get all teh screws out adn monitor off and all that, something around the trackpad wont come up. any idea what it is? if its just a tab i'll pop it. i just dont want to break anything.

    I didnt think cpu's were user replacable.

    They're replaceable, if you don't mind voiding your warranty, but once you look at the service guide you'll probably decide against it. Go to the downloads page for your notebook on hp.com and click the Manuals link on the left-hand side.

    i've seen this. its not too hard. i just cant get the area around the trackpad up. (keep in mind i removed a system board from a dell and resoldered the power supply to it, so replacing a processor isnt that big a deal.) any ideas about what might cause the trackpad to stick?

    tims4798, did you ever manager to change the cpu. I tried exactly the same thing as you with the same chip during the weekend and came up with the same problem. I would be interested to know if you did manage to get the trackpad off and how you done it. After I put mine back together the other on Saturday I seem to have a spare screw!
