Hey guys, Im currently looking to buy a more powerfull laptop but, in the meantime id like some options on what i can upgrade my current CQ62.
I know i want to add some more ram, CPU-z shows i have pc3-10700 ram, Is that 1333mhz? cpu-z also shows it running at only 533mhz. Should i get 1066 or 1333 ram? I notice there are different speed rating listed on cpu-z is there anyway to activate those. Sofar i think the bios is pretty locked up so i cant do much there.
The other thing i was thinking was swapping the hdd for an ssd. that should help also i would think.
Any ideas from you guys what else i could do?
Thanks,
Jerid

I have same laptop as you. I'm going to upgrade the cpu and memory, and hard drive to SSD but I'm also going to get HDD adapter so I can use my dvd burner slot as HDD slot and use my SSD as a main OS hard drive because they wear out on heavy usage I'm a heavy user lol.
the memory type is 10600

the cpu

if you scroll down to mobile check and look at TDP stay with 25w
but most this cpu aren't available in ebay yet only one I have found
"Turion II P520 2.3 GHz 2x 1 MB 1.8 GHz 11.5x 25 W S1G4 May 12, 2010 TMP520SGR23GM"
but I want quad on my laptop lol.
well good luck. I hope this helped. -
You more or less have the same as 1333MHz RAM, so just go get some of the same speed and you should be fine.
Only goto a SSD is you dont intend to store much on the laptop. If that is the case then a good small and cheap SSD will be great for fast OS and program loading, saves a small bit of battery, lastly you will not hear it running.
