will this work? i have a dv6000 and i want to switch this wireless intel card with my new dv5z which only has a a/b/g card and no bluetooth. will it fit and work? thanx in advance

It may work.. can the dv5z be configured with the card you are wanting to put in to it? THe problem is the HP's BIOS includes a list of devices that can be installed and if it doesn't include that device then your system wont boot.

i searched online and i wasn't aware that there was a hack bios that will enable the motheboard to support more wireless cards. it was a bios for the DV6000, dv7000 etc. is there's one available available for dv5z.

There is no such hack. If the BIOS in the dv5z supports the card from the dv6000 and vice-versa it will work. I'm not 100% sure on what you're wanting to do though.. are you taking your wireless card from your old dv6000 and putting it in the dv5z?

yes, and my old dv6000t has bluetooth included in the card right? my new dv5z is a regular a/b/g wireless card while my old dv6000t intel t5800 has a wirelesscard with a/b/g and N PLUS BLUETOOTH. i want to swap it and see if it was possible just to get N and bluetooth in my new dv5z. anyone knows?

The bluetooth in the dv6000 is a seperate card to the wireless.. they should fit in the dv5z but no garuntees that the dv5z BIOS will let you use them. Specifically what cards do you have in the dv6000? You can get the device ID's in Device Manager. If they are cards that are an option on the dv5z when you customize it here:

Then it should work theoretically.. you'll just have to disassemble both laptops and put the dv6000's parts in and give it a go. This document may help:

use a intel wireless a/b/g/n card with a DV5z?
