ok so everything was running fine until one day i turned my computer on to watch a movie. once i put in the disk i noticed that the video was skipping and going in slow motion and the sound was all distorted. so after trying multiple disks i thought that the lens was dirty so i used my lens cleaner cd and problem still exists. i also have noticed that my fan is not running either, not even on start up or shut down. i have tried to replace the fan with a brand new one but it still doesnt work. anyone have any clue as to what it could be? and or how i could fix this mess?

    any helps appreciated, thanks.

The fan only spins when it is needed. Try plugging in your notebook and check your power settings to make sure it's set for maximum performance.
