From reading the various threads here regarding heat and fan issues on these 2 Turion models, is it safe to assume that part of the problem if not probably most are these hot HDs? (palm rest) Could this be also a cause of overall system high temperatures that everyone is complaining about? I asked because some people dont have these issues.Since some the PentiumM models (dv) have the same fan and heat issues, I do not think it's the Turions fault alone.

If so , perhaps comparing our HD model, speed, and temperatures could help. (my v2000z is still on it's way)

"Hot" is a very subjective word; after using a desktop for many years (with its cool to the touch case), I too felt that the palmrest was "hot" at first, but after awhile, I became accustomed to it. If you're really concerned about the temperatures, buy a 12 cell battery with your notebook which will give you better airflow underneath the notebook.

Hot to be specific.... too Hot to work comfortably on your notebook... that is what i assume people were complaining about.

Wow, that's pretty warm for the HDD. My Hitachi 60GB 5400rpm drive operates at approx 30-36 degrees celcius during normal use (surfing, office apps, etc..). I have a Pentium M notebook, but that shouldn't make a difference to the HDD temp.

My hard drive runs at a similar temperature to Venombite's and I have a desktop chip inside my notebook.
