i want to know how a v2000z will work with world of warcraft, specificaly a sempron because thats what im going to have until i buy a turion later when i get more money.
its going to have 512 ram and probably 128 of that dedicated to the graphics, but has anyony played this with a sempron or a low turion and tell me fps and lag and stuff like that, ill mostly play on my desktop but my moms computers graphic card is InTeGrAtEd and its horrible sv unichrome or something :( so i need to know

I've got a DV5000Z with a Sempron 3000+. Don't upgrade to a Turion unless you need the 64bit..the difference really isn't worth spending all the extra money. You're going to want more than 512 megs of ram, it doesn't really run well on any computer with only 512. 1 gig makes it run much much much better.

Your 200M has the shared hypermemory stuff and not the dedicated video ram so it's probably going to be a bit slower than mine which has 128mb dedicated. Here's a screen shot of how I run it with my 200M @ 370mhz.
I get mid 20s in the cities and large outdoor areas, inside and in instances I get 40-60. Yours will definitely run it, I've played wow on much slower cards, you'll just have to turn some stuff down. Otherwise just upgrade to a gig or more of ram and you'll be set.

Wow thanks, but the shared memory on mine will probably make mine like 70% of your dedicated one. but still your playing with details on like medium i never knew world of warcraft required such little specifications. but ive never played but I think i would like to try, ive downloaded the demo but i cant try until i go to my moms because integrated is horrible here.
do you think its a fun game?
do you think its worth the money u pay?
do you think its easy to learn and understand?
do you think ill be able to get off my computer and eat unlike some guy who died because he wouldnt stop playing?

so anyone with the hypermemory thing, id like to know how it plays on your computers.

and a few questions about the game
1 is it fun and easy to get started
2 worth the money? or better games for free? or some other good games
3 is it easy to find people to help u at low levels or is it easy to level?

I have a v2000z and I play WoW on it fine with the default settings and the native resolution.

I have 1GB of ram and I also have a 5400 rpm drive.

The purely shared Xpress 200M config is, as you correctly believe, highly bandwidth impared. You can gain around 20% graphics performance by changing the command rate to 1T using A64Tweaker or Central brain Identifier. This should work just fine. If you're lucky (2 for 3 on Turion-based HPs I have tried) there's another 20% to be had by running the memory @ 200Mhz when gaming as well (also change the refresh rate to match).

Running the RAM @ PC3200 1T should make it perform not all that differently (>1300 3DMark03) from the dedicated memory solution plus PC2700 2T RAM.

so could you explain how to do these things?, Also i do not have the laptop yet probably have to wait until march 20ish, near my birthday im getting a sempron with 512 ram if its matters, ill add another 512 later and im gonna take the hardrive out of my 80gig 5400 rpm firelete usb 2 drive which should give some performance
