I'm going to install a fresh copy of XP Pro on my v2000z later today and would like to know if there's any other software/drivers not listed on the HP support page that I need?

for example, these are not on the page:
AMD Turion™ 64 Mobile Technology Driver for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 Version (exe) 1.2.2.2 -

PowerNow software (which I don't see for XP on the AMD site =x)

could you guys just list the updates you put on your computer after a format?

The software and drivers CD/DVD should have every driver you would need for the laptop to run. From there you can then go and download/find newer drivers. That is probably the easiest thing to do.

The stock driver for Windows XP includes the PowerNow software. Only the older versions of Win (98,ME...) need the extra PowerNow driver/software.

The one you really need is the modem or network card drivers. Everything else can be downloaded.

No, the Power Now tab appears only on the older version of Windows. In XP, the "Portable/Laptop" power scheme enables PowerNow and "Always On" or "Home Office" power schemes diables it.

The way it is setup to work is with minimal user interaction or assistance. Unless you use a tool like the AMD Dashboard or some other third party utility(RM Clock or Crystal) there is no way of either figuring out whether PowerNow is working or not.
