I have a Presario V2311US with two Kingmax MSAD42D 1GB modules running at PC2700(DDR333). Speed was fixed after updating BIOS to F.11

    Timings are 2.5-3-3-7

If you use 3200 with 2700 it will run the 3200 at 2700 speed. then you will need F.11 as F.06 doesnt run 3200 speeds

Ooops. Purchased at my local shop I believe the brand was a micron chip (I'm not terribly tech savvy).

    2 x Corsair ValueSelect VS512SDS400 (512MB PC3200)

Not sure which BIOS I have because I received my V2000Z today and am currently installing a fresh copy of Windows. However, I did make sure the memory was running at PC3200... but I did notice the CAS was 3 and not 2.5 like it should be.

I just got my V2000Z with ML-37 and 256MB ram. I upgraded with 2-256MB modules which I already have from my previous laptop upgrade. These were actually dual channel Samsung DDR333 modules from Toshiba P10-S429.

Now these are running at 166 2.5,3,3,7 with bios F11

Even though the memory controller of the Turion is improved you can't run 4-rank worth of memory at DDR-400. You should be able to run 1, 2 or even 3 rank worth of memory but not 4.

For those that have 2 DDR400 modules trying using one of them. I bet your system comes up then.

Everyone from AMD to the memory people call it rank now. From what I can tell rank=bank, it confused me as well. You can do one DDR400 module at DDR400, I noticed some others where trying to use two modules at DDR400.

In general 8 chips = one rank. I have 2GB in my laptop consisting of 32 chips running at CAS 2.5 DDR333. I can even load up A64 tweak and select 1T timings without any problems... although according to AMD Docs I should not be able to do that.

I never tried as I have DDR333 RAM, I need 2gb because I run vmware on my laptop. :)
    That's why i didn't bother with DDR400.
