    v2404US DVD/RW-+ Drive Option?

    anyone know if there is a drive option available from hp/cpq or 3rd party for this laptop? I hit the hpshopping site and can't find but will keep looking.

    You can custom-configure a v2000z series notebook on hp.com. That's probably what I'd do. Check out the v5000z series while you're at it.

    If you want you can always swap in a nice NEC DVD burner later but the bezel won't match the Compaq case.

    There are other retail model v2000z series notebooks that do have DVD burners.

    thx - i already have the 2404US; just looking for the option so I can buy it. if you have a link or info on the NEC model let me know. I'll do some more looking around too.

    if you check the system reference/maintenance guide, and get the part number. you can call HP and order the part.

    I have no idea about the pricing though. If it's expensive, maybe it's best to just sell the laptop, and get a new V2000z with DVD burner built-in.
