I've been looking around on this topic for a while now, but so far I haven't found much info - what are the differences between the two?

Here's the list that I know of so far:

    Design:

-Different lid finish (dv2000 black + more prone to fingerprints, v3000 liney)
-Different speaker setup (dv2000's are angled away from you - does that make a difference?)
-dv2000 slightly wider? (from the pics)
-v3000 looks thicker but I don't know if it is

    Features:

    -dv2000 has QuickPlay
    -dv2000 has 3 headphone jacks
    -dv2000 has built-in playback buttons
-dv2000 has carry-in remote control (not sure if v3000 has this)

    Components/Specs:

-via Costco you can get an nVideo GeForce 7200 in the dv2000, but not in the v3000 - pretty sure this is not the case at HP/Compaq, though

    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

And that's all, pretty much, I can come up with - can anyone corroborate this or offer up any more differences? And, these differences considered, is there ANY advantage to the v3000 over the dv2000, besides looks and the less fingerprint-prone lid (and in some cases price)?

The only difference between the 2 are:
1)dv2000 has a optional webcam and the Go 7200.
2)V3000 doe not have the extra dedicated media player buttons.
3)the remote control is optional in the V3000 but will have to be bought separately since(for some odd reason) they do not allow the customer to add it while customzing the laptop.

Which to buy is mostly down to personal preference, but if you need the webcam, remote or the Go7200, then th dv2000 is the only one which offers those features.

Actually, the dv2000 has two headphone jacks, one mic jack. The v3000 has only one headphone jack, and one mic jack.

v3000 doesn't have rewind/ff/play/pause media buttons for playing DVD's and music.
