i have a dv2690ee... i bought this in qatar last month... i downgraded it to windows xp (following the instruction here) and i just noticed a while ago that may videocard now has 256mb dedicated memory... when my laptop still in vista it only has 64mb... is this for real or it just a joke??? i noticed also that i can play now call of duty 4 in medium setting....

Where is it showing 256MB? I'm assuming you have the 8400M GS....
I noticed switching driver versions changed what Windows would see my video ram as (but this was in Vista)....... -
The 64MB RAM display was either a glitch.... or the extra RAM is virtual memory...
-
it shows in system info, nvidia control panel, dxdiag and also in systemrequirementlab.com... yes, i have the 8400m gs... and im using v163.16 driver...
-
but really, it improves everything... before, titan quest is not working, call of duty 4 in low setting is still choppy, company of heroes to...
-
As Prasa said, it is detecting virtual memory. As for gaming performance, I find XP to be a bit smoother...........
-
It is normal to expect better performance on XP than Vista on low-end cards (on older games, especially!) .

ah ok... ty for the info...
vcard 64mb became 256mb????
