Im new here to hello to all, I have a Presario V6000 and i love it, but just recently ive started to get vertical lines on my LCD. so far there are 4 groups, maybe 3-4 pixles wide that run the length of the monitor. I've priced out new monitors at around $100, but my concern is: is it the LCD going bad or is it the signal cable? any input will be appreciated

That looks more like a video card fault. Most of the nvidia geforce go 6150 are defective.

that makes sense, but it started as one group of lines on the left of the screen, then a group on the right side, and now there are two sets, distributed evenly, across the screen. also, sometimes if i apply pressure in the correct part or bend the screen forward, some of the lines go away. thats what made me think it was a signal cable or the LCD. thanks for the advice though.

Hook the laptop up to an external monitor, that would help to rule out the IGP.

    Good luck!

i hook it up to my tv through an S-Video cable and the picture is perfect, and i have hooked it up to another LCD through a VGA cable, im just not sure if it was prior to the lines :/

There is a 99% chance you need a new LCD panel if the output shows perfect on an external monitor and/or TV.
