Having known about voodoo being a high class CUSTOM pc builder, i always kept them in mind if i ever had the cash to slurge on a system.
Well, now has come the time and i went to check the website.
What did i find though? No customisation!! I didnt even bother looking at the premade firebrd setups.
As far as im concerned, voodoo pc is already shut down. no need for hp to do anything else. they have done enough already.
I have been off the circuit for while. can anyone else reccomend a good CUSTOM pc build site?
Yes i know, just do it yourself, but i like having someone to complain to when things go wrong.

Avadirect and Alienware and Falcon NW
just to name a few -

Yeah, Voodoo is basically gone, there are only a few systems left by them, that are rdiculously priced. A slow CPU and IGP, priced at up to $2000, for no reason... -
It will only be good, one less unjust laptop manufacturer.

A lot of these sites overcharge so much. Xotic is one of the first I've seen to not be so ridiculous on pricing. I mean, a really good notebook might run you $3500, but that's the base price for a Falcon NW laptop I think.
Edit: By "really good", I mean something so top of the line that most people wouldn't need it. -

Real carbon fibre if you believe their false advertising
And oh wait, its not the thinnest laptop. The Sharp is thinner than it, packs nearly as much power and has a much longer battery life

If you're talking about the sharp with the Transmeta chip, you really need to go research stuff before you start complaining. Transmeta never had native x86 chips, so even IF their micro architecture was as efficient as C2D, it STILL wouldn't be comparable. Also, it had somewhere around 256 or 512mbs of RAM.
if you're gonna make claims like that, research it first. -
SO MUCH HOSTILITY!!!
I LOVE IT!!!
i made the choice to purchace an Envy (fogvot the #) a while back and it was a piece of CRAP! it wouldnt even support WoW at medium settings...
i only spent a couple hundered on it off one of my buddies (he told me i shouldnt i didnt listen) BECAUSE THATS HOW I AM! so we took it out back and played with thermite for a few minutes.
the best graphical performance it EVER in the year i owned it was from the bright flame it threw out from its smoldering hole in the ground.
I was satisfied ^_^ -
Voodoo always charged at least $1000 more than anyone else just for a fancy paint job, but I'm sad to see another boutique brand bought out by the major corporations. I'd be happy if they'd at least continue making gaming laptops.

I never liked thier case designs but that laptop they made at the near end, was a great alternative to the macbook pro. Its not really a gaming laptop but its dam sexy if you have 3000 to waste on a bonus system.

their new case designs are pretty good though. the desktops anyway.

Howitzer225 Death Company Dreadnought
Whatever happened to their name as a maker of gaming notebooks? Only left is the Envy 133, which isn't a gaming laptop at all. I think HDX series stole the gaming limelight from Voodoo.

Voodoo is on sale now, hoping the new system will be better... though the chance def is small

I hope Vodoo still has enough steam to compete in the gaming notebooks market. The Envy 133 is comparable to the Adamo, and it isn't good to have such an underpowered laptop be in their sole lineup. The HP blackbird is kinda cool though.

I got a Voodoo off Ebay and it was as new condition, but the quad 4 that
is on board is slowish. Has anyone ever upgrade the CPU on the Voodoo to the faster top of the line quad 4 CPU ? I can pop the CPU out with no problems but the BIOS changes etc I am concerned about.
Thanks -
voodoo gone.
