    hey i am buying a dv 1040.. from costco. i know hp gives one year warrenty on their laptop but as wondering if i should get extended warrenty.. and which ones u guys recommend .. what types of warrenties are offered by them?

    yeah, American Express is a great option if you have the card. If not, you could ask your insurance agent if the renters/home owners insurance you have has extra coverage options for such thing as a laptop. Don't buy protection or warranty coverage offered by a retail store, it's always a rip off (especially Best Buy)

    hey my dad has one so.. i will tell him to.. buy it on his card.. and how would i know its covered on his card or not?? as i am buying at costco they usually only take american express or cash so..

    FYI, there's a $150 off coupon that is valid from 1/31 thru 2/06. I plan on getting a DV1000 also and I was wondering about getting extended warrantly. Thanks for the info regarding the Amex card.
