    I got a dv6000t with vista preinstalled.

web cam works fine when using MSN or Skype.

But, I cannot access webcam/imagining device in the "My computer"

neither can I use the "From scanner or camera" function at the MSpaint's File menu.

When I use XP on my desktop, both should work. So I wonder if these two problems can be solved....

(Actually, If you check Scanners and Cameras in the control panel, there is no device there, though web cam can work in MSN and you can find them in the device Manager)

In Vista your web cam will only work the way you describe. It cannot be accessed as an imaging device in my Computer as in XP. This all down to the current state of the very very poor Vista driver.

I have been arguing this point with HP techies now for some weeks. I have already had a new web cam fitted by HP but the Vista problems / support is still the same - very poor!
