Just got my dv2500 and was wondering if there was any software that was preinstalled that would allow me to test it out.

Programs/software always come with the webcam's that is on your computer. Doesn't matter if the webcam came with the notebook or you bought one.

hmm. tried to install this and got an error saying it can only be installed on an HP machine. Do u think its because i did a clean install and its trying to detect sumtin from HP?

mr. bonner, i doubt it. i installed it on my notebook which is also a fresh install. it does not require anything hp related at all. in fact the software is made by cyberlink, just distributed through hp. it installed perfectly. try again? maybe right-click the setup and run as admin or something. maybe that'll work.
