    hello :D
i tried to overclock my 9600m gt , well i had some problems (you can check that here)
anyway , since that didn't work
i reset my clocks to default (400/800/400)
now , when i play games i noticed a serious decrease in FPS , 5 or 6 for intense games (bioshock , F.e.a.r. 2) and even more for less intense games or old game
however the good thing is that the temperature is also really lower than before , the maximum i got is 73 (crysis warhead)
before that i used to get more FPS in all games but the temperature susually get to a maximum of 86 (fear 2 , bioshock , medal of honor airborne)
now the temperature is maximum 70 on all games exept crysis warhead (73)

so my question is ,W.T.F is happening ??
i am happy because of the temps and sad because of the fps , but what confusing me is why this happened ???
i reset my clocks to default , so why his change in my gpu's performance ???
i am getting 15-25 fps in crysis warhead 1024x768 , and the detail level is "mainstream"
i think that mainstream in warhead is the equivalent to "medium" in original crysis
as for bioshock i am getting the same fps , resolution 1280x800 , details medium
i used to do better than this .......
my specs are in my sig , please help

Maybe try re-installing the drivers... See HERE (for 32bit), and HERE (for 64bit).

I guess its possible you could have damaged your card, but im not sure.

I believe the default clocks for the 9600GT are 500/1000/400. It appears that you are running yours 100Mhz slower thus the lower temps.

I am just going off memory and want I see at www.notebookcheck.com. I also remember another owner who also had issues getting there default clocks back to normal (I just can't find the post). I remember they also commented that their clocks resetting back to 400/800/400 instead of 500.

Since I am not sure how you reset your clocks I might suggest using the "Reset all drivers settings to their default values". This is on the MAIN tab under Driver Settings --> Customize...

    http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-9600M-GT.9449.0.html

The default Nvidia drivers will auto adjust your clock speeds from 2D mode to 3D mode to 3D performance mode. Not to worry. You can check this out by using the Hardware monitoring feature. Found on the "Main" tab under "Target Adapter" then click on the "customize..." button. Then, jump into a game and then back out.

When you decide to start overclocking you will need to "Force 3D mode performance" and this will lock the clock speeds into their default 3D clock speeds.

Rozwell is right the 400/800/400 clocks are not the default -- that is just what RivaTuner defaults to for some reason.

I thought the stock clocks were 500/1250/400 though?

I could be wrong but that is what I read on this link:
