    what DVD-R cd's to get?

    i just bought some dvd+r cd's 25 pack 4x for 6 bucks.. i know the dvdr has + or -... what does that mean... what u look for when u wanna buy dvdr cd's? please help as this is my first time recording dvd's so.. please help..

    DVD-R discs tend to be more compatible with DVD video decks, so I standardized on them (as did Apple). For data I don't think it matters all that much but I do think -R is more popular. The last batch of Verbatim 8x DVD-R's I bought performed very well. Stick with the better brands and you'll be alright.

    I'm not sure, but I think that all dvd burners on hp desktops and laptops only burn + discs.
    Could someone confirm that?

    The best possible (for set top compatibility) that I have found are the Taiyo Yuden brand. But make sure that you have the absolute latest firmware on your burner. I have tested 6 brands!
