I'm troubleshooting my laptop, a dv2700.
My problem is that I get a BSOD STOP x0A when using my wireless Intel 4965 AGN card running VISTA Ultimate x64
I have deinstalled it(the card), reinstalled, updated driver, rolled back drivers and even reinstalled OS with recovery discs. I've run memtest including the 2 built in hdd and memory diagnostics in BIOS. everything is looking great.
Anyway. I put my router in G mode and it worked more stable than in mixed n/g mode with my laptop, but alas today I got a BSOD while using the wireless anyway. I've run the computer for 2 days with wired connection and nothing happened, but as soon as wireless was turned on it took around 3-4 hours and I got a BSOD (this was when I was still using n/g mixed mode).
I've run computer in safe mode for more than a day with n/g mixed enabled on router without any problems.
What could be the problem here?
I have a DIR-655 router btw with latest firmware.

I have a dv9500 running vista 64bit and d-link 655 router in mixed mode. Had same problem with random BSOD's caused by wireless.
I was finally able to fix it by downloading drivers directly from Intel for wireless Intel 4965 AGN card. The ones from HP site did not help.
I have not had a BSOD in over a month.

Alright! I shall try this.

Nope, got BSOD again, this time afd.sys and stop 3b... this is annoying...

Assuming you have Vista, do the following:
1.) Right click "Computer" in the start menu and click "Properties".
2.) Click "Advanced system settings."
3.) In the "Advanced" tab, click "Settings" under "Startup and Recovery."
4.) Where it says "System Failure" near the lower middle of the page uncheck "Automatically Restart."
5.) Hit "Ok."
6.) Hit "Ok."
7.) Hit the red "X."
Doing the above steps will restrict your computer from blue screening, but in turn pop-up with the error on your desktop. However, keep in mind that your computer may freeze or be rendered inoperable until restart. At least you'll be able to see the exact error message for correct diagnosis. For all you know, the error might not only contain the internet card.
I hope this helps for the time being!

Thank you for the reply. I've done this and hopefully it will help.
I am pretty sure it is the wireless since I can run a wired connection without ANY BSOD, but yeah it could be something else as well, that would be just my luck. -
Installing the Windows XP x64 drivers may help. They did solve the problem for me. Try it:

Hmm you had a similar problem then? Thank you for the input! I'll check it out right away.
EDIT: Checked it out, the driver seem to be older than the ones I have... I hope the drivers are compatible...
Update: I've installed the drivers but version numbers aren't matching on Devicemanager and installer, but I'll post if there is any BSOD or if the problem is indeed solved! -
You know what? I just thought of an excellent idea. Call HP support. lol

Ah well I have spoken to them both through email and chat and they have given me some things to try out but they didn't help at all. Thats is why I came here asking. As it is they are probably going to pick it up and "fix" it... hopefully that experience won't be too painful... So I'd rather fix it myself ...hehe

Well It has been running smoothly without any bluescreen so I I think I'll say it has fixed it, but I'll get back to you in a day or two since it might show up like it did with another "fix" I tried.

Well there was another BSOD so I guess the drivers didn't work. HP picking up computer tomorrow so I will get back to you in 2 weeks I guess. Hopefully then the computer will be working.
What could be the problem?
