I just got my new fancy machine last friday and in the top right corner it has dv2000on it and not dv2500. Did HP screw up or are they just lazy?

    Thanks

No they did not screw up, and No they are not lazy, this has been asked several million times, a simple search and you would have found your answer.

    You have a dv2500

hey chill out, did it trouble you deeply to tell me? Nice sarcasm there. Why search it when high and mighty users like you will take the time to tell me?

    thanks for the reply

Your computer say DV2000 because that is the series, the model is DV2500t. That is a way for HP to save money in since they use the same body for the Intel and AMD based models. HP do the same with all their computers, I myself have a DV2125US and it say dv2000 on the right top corner.

I noticed the same thing. I purchased a dv2500t last week, and it does have the dv2000 in the top right corner of the screen. When I put my service tag in to look for updates, however, it says I have a dv2600.

Now.. none of this helps with the crappy flexing keyboard this otherwise awesome lappy comes with.

Thanks for the nice explanation, F15HP.

If the keyboard flexes a ton near the edges and arrow keys, make sure it is properly mounted...

Thanks for that answer..rep... I had not even looked into why mine was a dv6000 on the screen but 6500 on the bottom. It was spec'ed right so no biggie. Guess if I'd looked hard enough I'd found the answer.... lol
